Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-04-12

We believe privacy should be a default, not a setting you have to find and enable. This policy explains what data we collect (very little), why, and what we do with it (mostly nothing). If you take the SBTI personality test, your quiz answers never leave your browser.

Data Collection

Quiz Answers — Not Collected

All SBTI test processing happens entirely client-side in your browser. When you answer the 45 questions, your responses are used to calculate your result locally using JavaScript. Your answers are never sent to any server, never stored in a database, and never associated with any identifier — anonymous or otherwise.

When you close the results page, your quiz data is gone. We have no record of what you answered, what result you received, or even that you took the test.

What We Do Collect

Standard web server access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamp) may be retained by our hosting provider for security and operational purposes. We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

Premium Report Purchases

If you choose to purchase a premium report ($9.99), the following data is involved:

  • Payment processing — All payment transactions are handled by Creem.io, our Merchant of Record. We never see, store, or process your credit card number, billing address, or other financial details. Creem handles all payment data subject to their own privacy policy.
  • Purchase token — When you complete a purchase, we generate a unique access token stored in Cloudflare KV (our backend infrastructure). This token is linked to your personality type and dimension scores (the same data that was calculated in your browser), but is not linked to your name, email, or any personally identifiable information.
  • Local storage — Your access token is saved in your browser's localStorage so you can revisit your report without repurchasing. Clearing your browser data will remove this token, but you can recover access via the link in your Creem purchase receipt email.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the site — which pages are visited, how long people stay, and which countries our visitors come from. This helps us improve the test and content.

Google Analytics collects anonymized usage data. We have enabled IP anonymization, which means your full IP address is never stored by Google in association with your Analytics data. We do not use Google Analytics for remarketing or audience targeting.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies. Specifically:

  • Language preference — a single cookie stores your language choice (English or Chinese) so you don't have to select it on every visit. This cookie contains no personal data.
  • Google Analytics — standard Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid) used to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. These do not contain personally identifiable information.

We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or third-party behavioral tracking cookies.

Third-Party Services

Cloudflare Pages (Hosting)

Our site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process your IP address and request data as part of delivering the site and providing DDoS protection. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Google Analytics

Usage analytics. Governed by Google's privacy policy. We only use anonymized aggregate reports.

Creem.io (Payment Processing)

If you purchase a premium report, payment is processed by Creem.io as our Merchant of Record. Creem handles all financial data (card details, billing info) and manages tax compliance. We do not receive or store your payment details. See Creem's privacy policy for details.

Cloudflare Workers & KV (Backend API)

Our premium report API runs on Cloudflare Workers with KV storage. Purchase tokens and report content are stored in Cloudflare's global network. No personally identifiable information is stored — only anonymous purchase tokens linked to personality scores.

Your Rights

Because we collect so little data, there is typically very little to act on. However, if you have questions about data we might hold, or wish to request deletion of any server logs that could be associated with your visits, you may contact us.

For visitors in the European Union: our data practices are designed to comply with GDPR principles of data minimization and purpose limitation. Our lawful basis for any analytics processing is legitimate interest in improving the service.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We will not notify you by email because we don't have your email. Check back occasionally if you care about this sort of thing.
